Making the Case for High Performance Building

This website showcases energy efficient and high performance buildings located in Vermont. This website is part of the High Performance Buildings Database sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. Projects featured in this website range from homes and commercial interiors to large buildings and even entire campuses and neighborhoods.

The residential projects showcased generally are certified by Vermont Builds Greener, Vermont ENERGY STAR Homes or the LEED® for Homes program. Projects from the non-residential markets may be certified green projects or simply projects that have one or more notable energy or environmental features. Several of these projects are winners of Efficiency Vermont's Better Buildings By Design's annual design competition for energy efficiency in buildings. The information has been reviewed for consistency and presentation, but in most cases the details have not been independently verified.

To find projects of interest, use any of the search options listed below, or select "list all projects" to see the entire list. Each project description may or may not include details on various aspects of its design process, costs, and/or environmental performance. You may limit your search to projects that include details in a particular topic area by using the Detailed Search function.
